Vicky Moran is a theatre director working across new writing, classical texts and devised work. Her practice is driven by strong, integrated visual and aural aesthetics, often playful, visceral and imaginatively ambitious in form, with a focus on actor-led processes that create rich, detailed and complex narratives. She has a particular love of working with music.
She trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and on the National Theatre Studio Directors Course 2024. She was the Resident Assistant Director at Cardboard Citizens (Jerwood Arts Bursary Award Winner, 2017–2019) and most recently as Resident Director on the RSC’s touring production of Hamlet (Rupert Goold). Vicky has worked as a Project Associate at the Young Vic, Mentor Director for National Theatre Connections, and is a regular director on Donmar Warehouse’s Take the Stage programme.

Associate Director credits include THE BRIEF LIFE AND MYSTERIOUS DEATH OF BORIS III, KING OF BULGARIA (National Tour) and DANCE (King’s Head). Assistant Director credits include THE ASSEMBLED PARTIES (Hampstead Theatre), CATHY (National Tour) and RISING (Cardboard Citizens).
Alongside her professional practice, Vicky works extensively with young people and community groups. She has directed creative projects for organisations including The Old Vic, Kiln Theatre, Lyric Hammersmith, Clean Break, Donmar Warehouse, National Theatre, The Young Vic, GDIF and Actors Touring Company. Productions include STUCK ON REPLAY (Lyric Hammersmith START Young Company) and FATHERS CHRISTMAS (Kestrel Theatre / HMP Springhill).
Vicky is also a script reader for The Bush Theatre and the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting, and is the director of female-led theatre company In Her Strength.
