The Kiln Theatre’s Listen Local Young Writers project works with 10 first-time writers aged 18-30 who live, learn, or earn in Brent. The group are paid at London Living Wage and attend weekly workshops, receive dramaturgical support, and attend 1:1 tutorials with Kiln’s New Work Associate.

Each writer developed their first short play exploring themes of heritage, using stimuli from the Brent Museum and Archives. The pieces were performed by professional actors in staged rehearsed readings at Kiln Theatre in July 2024, directed by Vicky Moran and Tom Wright.
